I am a communications specialist based in Baltimore with training in multimedia content production, social media marketing, communications and journalism.
In my current role as the digital communications specialist in Development and Alumni Relations at Johns Hopkins University & Medicine, I manage the @hopkinsgiving channels on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, as well as creating digital and print content for www.giving.jhu.edu and the Johns Hopkins Magazine. I have also served as the production lead for JHU’s monthly alumni newsletter, JHUpdate.
Previously, I worked as the marketing manager for Barre Investments LLC, a branch of boutique fitness company Pure Barre. While in the role, I increased the studio’s social media reach to make us the business with the largest social media following in the area. I also grew organic engagement and interaction by 200 percent across platforms.
Before transitioning to digital communications, I was a national award-winning features and political reporter for The Opelika-Auburn News.
I graduated with a masters degree in communications from the University of Alabama in 2013, where I created a national award-winning, immersive storytelling website that profiled an outpatient rehabilitation center for adults with serious mental illnesses.
My passion is creating engaging, informative ways to reach new and existing audiences with well-curated, targeted content.
