My name is Sara Falligant, and I am a digital media strategist based in Baltimore with training in multimedia content production, social media marketing and journalism.
I am a digital communications specialist in Development and Alumni Relations at Johns Hopkins, where I manage the @hopkinsgiving channels on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, as well as the Johns Hopkins University & Medicine – Development and Alumni Relations LinkedIn page. I also produce JHU’s monthly alumni newsletter, JHUpdate, as well as creating digital a print content for www.giving.jhu.edu and the Johns Hopkins Magazine.
Previously, I worked as the social media strategist for Pure Barre Auburn, a local branch of a boutique fitness company with more than 400 locations in the U.S. and Canada. During my time at PBA, I increased the studio’s social media following by more than 1,000 accounts, making us the business with the largest social media following in the area, and upped the interaction and post engagement by 200 percent.
Before transitioning to social media strategy, I was a national award-winning features and politics reporter for The Opelika-Auburn News.
I graduated with a masters degree in communications from the University of Alabama in 2013, where I created a national award-winning, immersive storytelling website that profiled an outpatient rehabilitation center for adults with serious mental illnesses.
My passion is creating engaging, informative ways to reach current and former clients with well-curated, targeted content designed to grow your organization.
